Vivian Vu is a Legal Assistant at Brotman Law, where she provides essential support across both casework and client intake. She assists attorneys with legal document preparation, case file organization, and intake coordination, particularly in matters involving Employee Retention Credit (ERC) litigation. Her administrative responsibilities include scanning, uploading, and formatting documents for review, as well as assembling case materials using tools like Bates stamping and subpoena packet compilation.
Vivian also supports transcript tracking and conducts document-level analysis to aid in ERC refund claims and disallowance cases. Her attention to detail ensures that legal files are accurate, litigation support is timely, and attorneys have access to clean, organized case data throughout each stage of the process.
While still in high school, Vivian earned two Associate of Arts degrees through Irvine Valley College’s Early College Program and later completed her B.A. in Economics at the University of California, Berkeley in just two years. While at Berkeley, she conducted policy research and co-authored a policy report entitled “Closing the Wealth Gap: Removing Barriers Faced by Women of Color Entrepreneurs” sponsored by the Wells Fargo Foundation examining barriers faced by women-of-color entrepreneurs. Her earlier experience also includes interning with the California Department of Housing and Community Development, where she supported research and program analysis related to housing access and community development initiatives.
Before joining Brotman Law, Vivian also served as an AmeriCorps VISTA with Step Up, a nonprofit supporting high school girls and young adults through mentorship and leadership development. There, she led engagement strategies and built tracking systems to improve participation across mentorship programs. Outside of that work, she also volunteers weekly as a youth leader for her church’s nonprofit outreach program, where she helps lead community service efforts, organize charitable fundraisers, and mentor youth in leadership development.
Outside of work, Vivian finds creative expression in nail art and design and is a passionate consumer of movies and music.
