Sam founded Brotman Law on December 28, 2013, when a client showed up five days before the doors were supposed to open. He resolved the issue before midnight — and hasn’t slowed down since.

With over twelve years of experience in tax defense and tax strategy, Sam has built the firm from a one-person shop in Ocean Beach to one of the fastest-growing law firms in the country. He’s represented clients in hundreds of IRS and state audits, led more than 150 multimillion-dollar corporate transactions, and overseen the recovery of $160 million in ERC tax credits.

Sam has been featured in the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, and Reuters. He is a Forbes Business Council member and the firm was named to the Inc. 5000 list of America’s fastest-growing private companies.

He approaches every client relationship the same way: figure out where you want to go, then build the shortest path to get you there. No jargon, no runaround — just straight answers.

Mike is the operational backbone of the firm. He oversees the day-to-day processes, systems, and workflows that keep Brotman Law running at full speed — from case management and client onboarding to technology infrastructure and team coordination.

Before joining Brotman Law, Mike built a career managing complex operational environments. His focus here is simple: remove friction, build systems that scale, and make sure every client gets a consistent, high-quality experience.

Michael brings an operational lens to a legal practice — he’s not an attorney, but that’s exactly the point. His background in managing complex operational environments means the attorneys can focus on what they do best: practicing law.

As the firm has grown, Mike has been the steady hand behind the scenes — the person who makes sure that when the attorneys are fighting for clients, everything else is running smoothly.
